PRESS RELEASE FROM THE PLATEAU PUBLISHERS ASSOCIATION (PPA)
The leadership of the Plateau Publishers Association, (PPA) wish to inform the general public that the Plateau Publishers Association is united and waxing stronger by the day.
It is worthy of note and to put the record straight, that on Sunday 16 May, 2021 at its temporary office situated at Kalwa House Jos, the Plateau State Capital, at its General Congress Meeting of the Association which was preceded over by its former Interim Chairman Mr Shabul Mazadu to give his stewardship report as his interim committee's tenure of six months duration is fast coming to an end on the 27, May, 2021.
It is also worthy of note, that the general public should know that a collective decision was taken by the majority of the congress members to dissolve the Shabul Mazadu's interim committee and set up a five man Electoral Committee (ELCOM).
The following persons emerged as the ELCOM members after a vote was cast:1) Chief Amos Gizo as Chairman, Hon. Daniel Kura, as Secretary, Chief Mrs Yuwana Enoch Nanyah as Treasurer, Pastor Mrs Florence Amos Emi Financial Secretary and Elder Yakubu Ajala as the Publicity Relations Officer (Publicity Secretary), with the mandate to conduct election into the various positions that will lead the Association for the period of three years as it is stipulated in the constitution of the Association.
The Congress also through an overwhelming vote supported the removal and dissolution of Mr Shabul Mazadu and his interim exco and an electoral committee headed by chief Amos Gizo was selected to run the association for 6 months within which an election should be conducted.
However history has it that Mr Shabul Mazadu who always have penchant for sit tight syndrome and power drunk and believes that no one in this world can rule over him ,he is the most intelligent person on earth, was the one who swore in the ELCOM. It is quite astonishing to realise after administering the oath of office/ inaugurating the five man committee as the immediate Chairman forgotten the fact that his coming into PPA as Chairman was as a result of the removal of the former Chairman who was duly elected to serve the association and his tenure of three years was cut short at a year plus.
It is also worthy of note, that Mr Shabul Mazadu is always in a hurry to join any newly formed group that its leadership is yet to be formed or elected with the hope of becoming the Chairman, and he will without delay or hesitation blackout as soon as the leadership is formed and he is not made the Chairman examples are: Plateau Independent Publishers Association (PIPA), Frontline Publishers, then back to PIPA, Publisher's Forum and now Plateau Publishers Association (PPA).
Mr Mazadu left PPA twice, the first was immediately after he lost the Chairmanship of the association to Mr Hosea Nash Vondip and later agreed to come back immediately after some members of the Association went and met him and promised to make the Chairman which he graciously accepted with all eagerness and actually returned and he was made the Chairman something he will not tell the world.
Again, Mr Mazadu could not even pretend of his penchant taste for power even for a day, immediately his tenure as PPA Chairman was dissolved by the congress he immediately start lobbying some members of the Association to go and form a new association where he will continue his power drunken altitude as its Chairman.It was not surprising therefore when he came up with his new association bragging that now he owns a new association,known as the Independent Publishers Association and he comes up with ficticious names of people that even if one calls him on phone to advice him on the decision he took, he will write down your name as a member of his association in desperation.
The question here is, can a man who does not and will never want to be led by someone else be a good leader? Is a question for the public to answer.
Mr Mazadu can never deny the fact that he is not a power drunk, and if he says otherwise, let him step aside from his new formed association and should appoint someone from his new group to lead as Chairman and let the world see if he can stay a day in that association.
It is on record that Mazadu is the architect of his misfortune, having asked his lackey to write a press release tagging some Publishers as PDP and others APC.This bomaranged and caused his total rejection by the Congress.
