College of Health Technology Pankshin Gets A New Facelift


The commissioner of Higher Education Plateau state, Dan Philip Hirkop was on Thursday July 14th, 2022, commissioned the Main Gate of the College of Health Technology Pankshin and administrative block of the institution amidst pomp and pageantry.


Hirkop while commissioning the projects executed by the Provost of the College, Francis Fwangje, commended the Governing Council and management of the college for considering it necessary to embark on a fencing and other projects executed within the college.


He said the initiative is in line with the directive both at State and Federal level that all educational institutions must be fenced to to address incessant incursions in to the campuses.

The Governing Council and Board Cairman of the Institution, Hon Nandang Bako, appreciates Governor Lalong for always being there for the institution assuring that the Governing Council of the College will continue to work in synergy with the Management and Staff of the institution.


Bako said he is delighted with the first projects initiated and executed in the institution under his watch adding that, any amount that is generated from the institution will be accounted for because it is a public funds.


Provost of the College, Francis Fwangje, said the land mark achievements of this administration have not been hitch free, judging by the fact that the college has been confronted with the numerous challenges. He said
despite the financial constraints, the management staff opted for utilization of the limited resources to achieve much with less resources by prioritizing the college needs and commended governor Lalong for always supporting the institution to succeed.


He said this administration since inception decided to accord top priority to this very import sector with a view to create a conducive environment for research and learning to be able to produce credible Health workers that are worthy both in character and knowledge in the 21st century.


Fwangje reveals that the college has done all within its power in accreditation exercise, while accreditation of some programmes are still pending as the college await the relevant boards of the programmes.

Fwangje added that his administration is committed, determine and dedicated to the infrastructural development of the institution. 


The projects that were executed include, Fencing of the college premises at the front and back view, new clinic laboratory for the college demonstration clinic,construction of drainages system in the front view of the new Joshua Dariye hall,the purchase of an official vehicle for the provost renovation of female hostel, purchase of relevant text books to equipment college library for re-accreditation, payment of pension and gratuity to 15 retirees out of the 25 retirerees staff of the college and ten are to be paid by installment in order to settle all the retirees staff and numerous others.


Goodwill messages came from commisioner of health, Dr. Nimkong Ndam Lar, represented by Mrs Mary Fom, Hajiya Sadiya, Permanent Secretary Establishment, Nasara Girma, the pioneer Provost of the college, ASUP chairman, Philip Longben Amongst other dignitaries.
