Dakum Wishes Muslims a Successful Ramadan Fast, Enjoins Them to Imbibe Lessons of The Season




With the sighting of the crescent moon of the ninth month of the Muslim calendar signifying the start of the Ramanda Fast, the Chief Executive Officer, Institute of Human Virology Nigeria, IHVN, Dr. Patrick Sunday Dakum, wishes all Muslim Ummah in IHVN, Plateau State, the entire country, his associates, friends and colleagues in US a successful Ramadan Fast; and enjoins them to imbibe its lessons and essence.
According to him, the purpose and benefits of the Ramadan fast which teach and guide on self-control, reinforcement of faith and piety, inculcating mindfulness of God and His blessings, seeking forgiveness of sins, and a reminder of the plight of those who do not have adequate food, water, and shelter to be supported, are attributes of love, peaceful co-existence and humanity that are rich in making the world a better place; hence, every Muslim he reiterated should try and imbibe the virtues.
In the same vein, Dakum added that the country is in dire need of stemming insecurity, inflation and corruption which are clogs in the nation's wheel of progress; and calls on the Muslim Ummah to use the Ramadan period to pray fervently for the country to surmount all its challenges and to emerge better, strong and prosperous.

Dakum further admonished the rich and middle class to remember the less privileged and the vulnerable during the fast and support them as their tenets demand so that they too could successful complete the season happily and joyfully.

The former Commissioner of Health and Information also sues for peaceful co-existence between all citizens of different faiths, saying it's inevitable in the build up of a strong and viable nation.
