BREAKING: Buhari Aligns with Northern Governors Advice, Supports Southern Candidacy
President Muhammadu Buhari has reportedly accepted to allow the presidential ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to go South in 2023. He made this known at a dinner with the APC presidential aspirants at the Aso Rock Villa. According to sources close to the situation, Buhari failed to state any consensus but asked the southern aspirants to compete at the party’s primary. This is coming after 10 Northern governors have advised the President to allow the presidential ticket of APC to be zoned to the South and demanded that all Northern aspirants should withdraw from the race. The governors stated their position in a public statement signed by 10 of them and the leader of the party in Sokoto State, Aliyu Wamakko. A total of 22 of Nigeria’s 36 states are governed by the APC. Fourteen of the governors are from the North, while eight are from the South.
