HON. KOMSOL BAGS PPA AWARD OF OUTSTANDING REPRESENTATION.
The member representing Mikang/Shendam/Qua'an Pan Federal Constituency, in the National Assembly, Hon. Alphonsus Longgap Komsol has bagged Plateau Publishers Association (PPA) award for Outstanding Representation Thursday at his office at the Green chamber of the National Assembly.
In his speech at the presentation event, the PPA chairman, Shabul Mazadu said the PPA has meticulously followed the campaign promises of elective office holders in the state and have found Hon. Komsol soaring high in keeping to his electioneering promises, with a sincere desire to better the lives of his constituents. According to him, Komsol's one and half years as a Federal Legislator has proven his mettle and finesse of sound representation as attested by his achievements so far.
Mazadu stated that time and space will not avail him the opportunity to mention all that Komsol has achieved but to clear away doubts and make it incontestable, he mentioned some of the achievements as:
LEGISLATION:
On legislation, Komsol sponsored three bills for the creation of Federal Polytechnic Shendam, Federal Medical Centre Piapung and Federal University of Agriculture, Namu.
PROJECTS EXECUTION:
Komsol constructed three and two classroom blocks in Shimankar, Gidan Adamu, Yamini and Dorowa with others on the pipeline and two ICT halls undergoing construction.
Also constructed were solar boreholes in Shendam and Qua'an Pan, purchased and mounted Mega Kilo watts step down transformer in Bakin ciyawa. Currently survey of mounting solar panel street lights are ongoing in some areas of his constituency.
EMPOWERMENT:
Hon. Komsol sponsored applicants for recruitment in the Police Force from his constituency who eventually secured employment in the force. He also secured employment in so many places such as; Jos University Teaching Hospital, Jos University and others.
During this year's rainy season he distributed so many bags of fertilizers to farmers in his constituency, and currently he has over three hundred motorcycles and five hundred grinding machines and hundreds of sewing machines to be distributed to constituents soon, aside cash donations as empowerment to some beneficiaries.
EDUCATION:
As a lover of education, Komsol paid JAMB fees to so many secondary school graduates seeking employment in universities aside those he paid their SSCE examination fee and school fees.
WELFARE:
Three times Komsol supplied palliatives to his constituents. Also he assisted the victims of the massive floods in some communities in his constituency with relief materials of roofing sheets, wood, nails, bags of cement and so many others.
During Sallah and Christmas festivals, he supplied animals such as sheep and cows, bags of rice, clothes and cash to so many of his constituents for the celebrations.
PPA admonished Komsol to see the award as an energizer to do more and not to see that he has done enough.
In his response, Hon. Komsol thanked PPA which he said he believe that truly its members are following his records and achievements. And that he believes the award is not sycophancy because of the calibre of people that constitute the association as they are blond and speak the truth without fear or favour.
According to him, all that he is doing for his constituency is to render his dues by paying back in kind to it for voting him saying his services are not for applauds but to touch and change lives of those against all odds and wishes of the elite voted for him.
He further said that he never knew he will be a federal legislator because of the forces that ganged up against him which made him to raise the slogan Dogara Ga Allah (Trust in God), but God who gives power to whom he deems fit, made him to win. With this he added, he has to serve his people selflessly.
Komsol posited that what he achieved so far, are nothing compared to those coming in the proceeding years, because his constituency is always in his mind.
He posited by admonishing PPA to all disseminate its reportage objectively and well balanced.
