PPA Visits Unity FM
... Synergieses On Advocacy For Peace And Unity On The Plateau.

Plateau Publishers Association (PPA) represented by some members of its EXCO led by its chairman Shabul Mazadu, paid a courtesy call on the Chief Executive Officer of Unity FM 93.3, Alhaji Dasuki Nakade, in his office at the radio station in Jos, Saturday, seeking cooperation to enhance and promote robust and sound reportage to consolidate peace and unity on the Plateau in order to attract investors to the state.

Showing much concern by the fake and negative impression given to the entire world on social media by enemies of Plateau who ceaselessly and colossally  project the state as being hostile with peace eluding it, thus; scaring potential investors from coming to invest in it, PPA and Unity FM, decried such act, and lamented that the social media is being abused and used to the detriment of the state.

Speaking at the visit, PPA chairman lauded Unity FM for its efforts at promoting peace and unity in the state, providence of employment, educating and entertaining citizens of the country across board.

He lamented that most citizens of the state are inadequately utilizing community papers and electronic media in the state to promote their businesses and political ambitions, and the non presence of investors due to the nefarious activities of social media abusers, poor cohesion between the ethnic and religious groups and decay in infrastructures capable of wooing investors.

Mazadu further reiterated the need for synergy to boost robust journalism and laundering Plateau's image to woo investors whose benefits have tremendous multiplier effects of job creation and enhancing economic growth, and to have a forum of Plateau News Paper publishers and electronic media in order to overcome challenges facing them.

In his response, Dasuki appreciated the visit and lamented the bad image peddled against the state saying Plateau State is Paradise compared to many states in Nigeria. And that all acts tailored towards driving away investors must be resisted by all. He gave his hand of fellowship for the promotion of robust journalism and parley with Plateau Publishers to overcome all forms of challenges facing both electronic and newspapers in the state.
