100 Days in Office: Jos South LG Councillor, Reaches Out to His Constituents with Free Medical Outreach, Commissions Street Light




The people of Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State, have benefited from a one day medical outreach organized by the Councillor Representing Zawan B Ward constituency, Hon Alex Isaac Dagul, to enhance the well being of the people.

While speaking, Hon Alex Isaac Dagul said, “You know there's this common statement that says health is wealth. So we intend to bring this to their doorstep since we're their representative at the council, most especially to those who are not financially capable that can access hospital thats why we're doing this free medical outreach for them and to mark our 100 days in office. Not just this alone, we have other project that we commissioned today too, that is solar powered street lights.” he said. 

Dagul, who is also the committee Chairman on Poverty Alleviation added that, “we have four types of different tests that we are conducting today including, hepatitis, HIV, Tuberculosis and Malaria and there are vaccines for hepatitis. Since we are for the people, they have given us their mandate to go and represent them at the council so I think in return, we will bring more impacted projects to them and more are still to come but this is what we can impact to them marking our 100 days in office.” 

The testing were performed on both adults and children who came from various communities within Jos South Constituency. They were also given free drugs following treatment. 
HIV and Hepatitis screenings were also carried out with counselors on ground who assisted in counseling the patients on what to do.

Dagul said that preparations were on for the drilling of boreholes in various communities in the constituency to alleviate the problem of water scarcity being experienced by the people.

Jos South Legislative Leader, Hon Chomoshen Emmanuel David, while commissioning the solar powered street light, today, commended Dagul for the gesture and called on other elected office holders to take a cue from him.

The medical outreach event took place on  Saturday, February 1st, 2025, at Azi Nyako Youth Centre, Dadin Kowa of Jos South LGA.
