Women are called to “Choose to change positively”
The Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees, women committee, Plateau State Chapter Was on Thursday March 11th, Celebrates her International Women's day celebration.
The event took place at NULGE House Anguldi, Zawan Area of Jos South Local Government amidst pomp and pageantry.
The Chairperson of NULGE Women Committee Plateau State Chapter Comr. Christiana Nanji Andrew Kura at the event said: “ I'm impressed with the out come of the women and with the guest speaker.
She spoke well and she digested the women faults very well. Our prayers is for men to always give us the support because we're good helpers. When you empower a woman, you empower the nation so we are always asking for support from the men folks to see that any time any year, our international women's day will be successful.” she said.
The International Women’s Day is a time to reflect on progress made, to call for change and to celebrate acts of courage and determination by ordinary women, who have played an extraordinary role in the history of their countries and communities.
The NULGE Chairperson Comr. Christiana Nanji Andrew Kura called Women to challenge the situation by creating other means of income and others issues of concerns.
The 2021 International Women's Day this time came with the theme " Women in Leadership: Achieving An Equal Future in a Covid-19 World, celebrates the tremendous efforts by women and girls around the world in shaping a more equal future and recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.
Comr. Kura said that collective action and shared ownership for driving gender parity is what makes International Women's Day tremendously impacted on the achievements of women's in the world.
Comr. Christiana kura promised to make Women and girls life count everywhere on the “Eighteen NULGE” branches on the Plateau and appreciate the role played by Women in developing the World.
The guess speaker Comr. Gloria Plangnan Johnson - Odiwe address global problems concern on the Status of Women, Women in public life, and gender equality.
The Sarkin Yakin NULGE and NULGE President Plateau State Comr. Chief Arandong Yohanna Makwin JP Represented by the State Publicity Secretary Comr. Aminchi K. Joshua described today's women's day celebration as very remarkable feet and “I'm highly elated with the number of committed women I saw who attended the occasion. It's one occasion that gives recognition to women and this particular case women in NULGE”.
He Congratulates Plateau State NULGE Women Committee On Their Support and Encouragements towards one another and added that that this is the second time NULGE are joining the World to celebrate the tradition annually on the Plateau.
