President Muhammadu Buhari has returned to the country from the United Kingdom, UK where he went for a medical check-up.

Buhari arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe international airport on Thursday evening.

According to Mrs. Joyce Ramnap, the state Commissioner for Information and Communication, said government has only temporarily suspended artisan mining activities to address pressing security and human rights concerns. The suspension, which was implemented through Executive Order (001), aims to regulate artisan mining activities and ensure the safety and well-being of miners. The government cited several reasons for the temporary suspension, including insecurity challenges, child molestation, and the proliferation of mining activities that have led to deaths in mining ponds.
