President Muhammadu Buhari has returned to the country from the United Kingdom, UK where he went for a medical check-up.

Buhari arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe international airport on Thursday evening.

MIDDLE-BELT: "We Want To Be On Our Own And Not Part Of The North” – Sen. Jonah Jang

Jonah Jang Senator Jonah Jang, former PDP presidential aspirant and governor of Plateau state, stated that the middle belt needs to be on its own and not regarded as the north Senator Jonah Jang lamented that northern Christians are being oppressed in the north, adding that the people want to be separated from the Hausa-Fulani. According to him, the northern Christians want to be under a different regional identity known as the middle belt. Speaking to Daily Sun in an interview published on Saturday, January 23, Jang said the ethnic minority from the middle belt should be given the opportunity to produce the president in 2023. Gangare, Dilimi, Congo Russia Communities Risk Cholera Outbreak Due to Poor Sanitation Exercise

The Plateau State Environmental Protection and Sanitation Agency (PEPSA) has warned that several communities in Jos North Local Government Area are at risk of cholera and other epidemics due to citizens' blatant disregard for environmental sanitation. On Saturday, May 31, 2025, PEPSA officials conducted a monthly environmental sanitation exercise across the state. However, in communities such as Gangare, Congo Russia, Dilimi, and Angwan Rukuba, many residents failed to participate, instead continuing with their daily activities. Food vendors, tricycle operators, and pedestrians were among those who ignored the exercise, posing health risks to themselves and others. In Gengare community, a bread and tea vendor was arrested for operating his business amidst stagnant water and heaps of garbage.
