Rescue Administration Will Continue To Invest In Peace Process- Governor Lalong
While declaring the 3 Day National Conference open, the Executive Governor of Plateau State Rt. Hon. Simon Bako Lalong, ably represented by his deputy, Prof. Sonni Gwanle Tyoden appreciated the participants for having confident in the peace process of Plateau State. He added that culture is an important element in promoting peace and the role of Women and Youth is vital to achieving peace.
The Governor condemned the recent resurgent of attacks in some communities in the State and assured that the security agencies will do all within their power do deal with criminals in the state.
The Minister for Information and Culture Alhaji Lai Mohammed, represented by the Director of International Cultural Relations, Maimuna Idola said to reverse the trend of security challenges in Nigeria all hands must be on deck hence the role of Women and Youth.
The Minister assured of President Muhammadu Buhari's commitment to end insecurity in Nigeria by bringing criminals to justice.
On her part, Plateau State Commissioner of Tourism Culture and Hospitality, Twamakat Weli who is the chairman of the event commended the organisers of the program adding that government is looking forward towards a cultural dimension to ensure peace and security of all citizens.
On his part, the Executive Secretary National Institute For Cultural Orientation (NICO) Ado Mohammed said youth and women empowerment is key to attaining peace and security and urged all stakeholders in the peace process to allow culture take its place in the development of Nigeria.
Goodwill messages came from Secretary General National Convention of UNESCO Ulagunji Idowu and the Director General Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution, Bakut Isua Bakut among others.
