2023: Gumi Asks Fulanis To Get Voters Card








Prominent Islamic cleric, Dr Ahmad Gumi has called on Fulani ethnic group to ensure they register and obtain voter cards ahead of the 2023 general elections in the country, so they can elect leaders who would provide good governance and protect their interest.

The Islamic cleric said this while presenting animals and foodstuffs to the families of Fulani that were affected by insecurity and the COVID-19 pandemic, organized by a pastoral group under the aegis of Bilital Marroobe Pastoralists Association of Nigeria (BILMPAN) in Kaduna.

Gumi who cautioned herdsmen, particularly those living in the forests against banditry and kidnapping, stated that their bloc votes is very important in the emergence of any credible leader in Kaduna as well as in the country.

He said, “If we want our votes to matter and make a difference, we must work towards bloc voting in the next election. We should be ready to work as a team to succeed."

Gangare, Dilimi, Congo Russia Communities Risk Cholera Outbreak Due to Poor Sanitation Exercise

The Plateau State Environmental Protection and Sanitation Agency (PEPSA) has warned that several communities in Jos North Local Government Area are at risk of cholera and other epidemics due to citizens' blatant disregard for environmental sanitation. On Saturday, May 31, 2025, PEPSA officials conducted a monthly environmental sanitation exercise across the state. However, in communities such as Gangare, Congo Russia, Dilimi, and Angwan Rukuba, many residents failed to participate, instead continuing with their daily activities. Food vendors, tricycle operators, and pedestrians were among those who ignored the exercise, posing health risks to themselves and others. Flood Control: PEPSA kick-off Drainages distilling in Jos and Bukuru Metropolis to Curb Flooding as Raining season Approaches

Ahead of this year's rainy season, Plateau Environmental Protection and Sanitation Agency (PEPSA), has kick started drainages distilling within Jos and Bukuru metropolis to mitigate flooding that may likely occur. Speaking during the official flag off in Jos city center on Tuesday, Director General of PEPSA, Samuel Dapiya revealed the yearly routine exercise of drainages clearing is part of the agency mandate actualization of keeping Plateau clean. The DG represented by the agency's director of administration, Izang Pate said the exercise is very key as it will go a long way in curtailing the scourge of unforseen flooding and water borne disease.
