Insecurity: Commander Operation Safe Haven Held Maiden Peace Summit with Irigwe and Fulani's Youth
The Officer Commanding 3rd Armour Division Rukuba, plateau state has advised the warring tribes of Irigwe and Fulani's of Bassa Local Government Area of plateau state who had been at dagger draw against one another for a while now to sheath their sword and embraced peace for development to thrive.
He said peace is priceless which no meaningful development can be achieved under the atmosphere of Killings and destruction of properties.
Major General Ibrahim Ali who doubled as the Commander Operation Save Haven (OPSH), a security outfit created to maintain peace on the Plateau and it environs, stated this in his speech during the "First Irigwe and Fulani's Youth peace Summit held at the Lamonde Hotel, Jos ,plateau state on the 17th February,2022.
General Ibrahim Ali lamented the constant wanton killings that continued on abated between the two natives of the irigwe and Fulani's who had coexisted together for a long time,but suddenly wake up to discover that they are dagger draw against one another for whatever reasons.
He pleaded with the two warring groups of Fulani's and the Irigwe to make sincere and honest promise that this Youth peace Summit organized by the Operation Save Haven (OPSH) to sensitize and educate the two communities on the need for peaceful co-existance, will help to put an end to the sporadic attack between the two natives in Bassa Local Government.
He further stressed that the Youth of Irigwe and Fulani's in Bassa should not allowed attack of any kind either Political , Ethics or religion to destroy their corporate existence with one another who they have been living together for years like brothers.
He further said as Youth you are the most powerful vessels for progress, they can also be use to destroy the country, use to repaired it in whatever way they choose to.
One of the resources person who spoke at the summit, Dr. Abdulsalam Salis identify one of the cause of crisis to include claim by groups that his religion is superior than the other.
Salis added that every man is equal before God, irrespective of your religious affiliation Muslims or Christians.
He Said everybody has his space, it's when we didn't respect each other's space, there is bound to be problem and advised the Fulani's and the Irigwe to learn to respect each other's space for peace to reign.
The second speaker at the Irigwe and Fulani's Youth peace Summit, Nuhu Zaka Bako described plateau state which was hitherto the home of peace and tourism suddenly metamorphosed into the home of pieces and terrorism as brothers turned against themselves.
There was question and answer section where the participants were given the opportunity to ask questions and the resource Persons given room to provide answer to the question or questions.
No fewer than Two Hundred Youths from both Fulani's and Irigwe youth attended the peace summit.
The youths commended the STF for organising the peace parley and promised to live in peace with one another.
