The Executive Chairman of Jos South Local Government Area, Amb. Gideon Dung Dandereng on Monday April 18th, 2022, performed the foundation laying of the Council's Chapel.

The foundation laying and Easter service was held at the Council's Secretariat amidst pomp and pageantry.

The Executive Chairman, who was in company of other christian faithfuls and other notable dignitaries were on ground to worship at the Council's Secretariat and Easter service, with a Theme tagged: "Resurrection Celebration Worship Service/Chapel Foundation Laying".

The service exhortation was done by Rev. David Polycarp who came in from Florida of the United States said, he couldn't hide his love for the people of Jos South and Plateau State in general, having known the State for 31 years. He extolled the importance of constructing the chapel as it will signify the acceptance and presence of God in Jos South.

The Reverend also expressed his desire to be around to commission the project when it is finally completed.

The chairman while speaking appreciated the people of Jos South for the continuous support he enjoyed from them having started from the humble position of a councilor rising through the ranks.

He charged the church and her leaders who he sees as partners in the leadership project to always pray for the government as that is the instruction handed over to them as it is written in the Holy Bible.

He stressed the need to transfer morality and the love of God to the younger generation, as that will strengthen the presence of God in the local government.

The Chairman informed the congregants that he saw the necessity to construct the chapel which by God's grace will be the first of it's kind across the 17 Local Governments in Plateau State. He pledged to use his personal resources to finance the construction of the chapel's foundation.

He said despite the dwindling of the revenue accruing to the LG and inclusion of the project in the LG budget 2022 appropriation bill, he promised to complete the project with or without funds in the LG by using his contacts both locally and oversea to mobilize resources to ensure the project is completed.

Climax of the event was the symbolic foundation laying and construction of the chapel by the Executive Chairman.
