Bassa: Suspected Fulani Militias kills 2, set 90 Houses ablaze
On Thursday the 31st day of March 2022, was another darkest moment for the people of kwall district, Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State. The community have witnessed yet another attacked by Fulani Marauders who carried out their evil act without led or hindrance from the various relevant security agencies who were saddled with the responsibilities of protecting lives and properties of the citizenry.
The attack, which took place at La'ake Village of Kwall District, Rigwe Chiefdom last night at about 1:05am.
An inventory of deaths and losses during the free day attacked includes;
Two (2) deaths and the victims were
Joshau Wanga - 42 years and Ngweda Mali - 76 yrs.
Ninety (90)Households were said ablaze by the Fulani Militias, Four (4) Motorcycles burnt.
Ten (10) Water Pump Machines burnt, Nine (9) Powered Generators burnt, Three (3) motorcycles were carted away and one person sustained gunshots injury and currently receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital.
According to eyewitness, who said the attackers invaded the community around 1:05 am and lasted for over two hours without response by security operatives, even though calls were placed across to them.
The Public Relations officer of Irigwe Development Association (IDA), Davidson Malison, while narrating their ordeal said, "their is an agenda of ethnic cleansing on Rigwe people, and it will not triumph."
"The land has suffered a lot and the damages are becoming unbearable"
"This the third day Rigwe nation has consecutively been attacked with less efforts to curb it by those saddled with the responsibility of protecting lives and properties of the citizens". He added.
