AREWA CHRISTIANS STATEMENT ON POSTPONEMENT OF ACIPA DAY AND CONCERNS OVER PREVAILING SITUATIONS LEADING TO THE 2023 ELECTIONS.

Thursday, 27th October 2023

It became imperative for the leadership of Arewa Christians and Indigenous Pastors Association (ACIPA) to postpone the earlier ACIPA day of Prayer, Book Dedication, Awards and Investiture.
The event earlier scheduled to hold in November 2022 have been adjusted to January 2023.

ACIPA observed that the natural circumstances leading to the over flooding across states resulting in immense lost of lives and properties is of concern and worthy of empathy. We therefore, we commiserate with those who lost their loved ones and means of livelihood as we also pray along with them.

We call on churches, denominations and religious organizations to rise to the occasion and offer assistance to those in need in view of government failure to do the needful with regards to building canals and water ways.
While the situation can be attributed to the effects of weather however, our federal government is culpable as a result of lack of adequate planning in all ramifications.
On the other prism, conscious of and knowing our spiritual mandate within the context of the prophetic, ecclesiastical and Apostolic mandate, the cosmic and nature have shown a sign for us in Nigeria.

It is obvious that with our ecclesiastical mandate and understanding we shall not falter nor be timid. The unfolding events in Nigeria with particular reference to the exposition in the political circle leading to claims, counter claims, regrets and renunciation on one side from politicians and on another from some clergies betraying our common stake and interest speaks volume of hidden machinations. Obviously, more will unfold in the days ahead.

Of concern to ACIPA is the unabated cases of acts of terrorism and abduction swept over by government as hoodlums or bandits activities.
Spiritual intelligence at our disposal confirmed the reports and steps taken by the United States government through her embassy in Nigeria over security concerns.

We wish to state categorically and unmistakably that for any eventual event leading to further lost of lives, the blood of innocent Nigerians shall be upon this government of APC under a retired General, President Mohammadu Buhari. We know the situation is precarious and the government most say so and also rise to the occasion rather than the half hearted and haphazard efforts.

The same government that propagates against fake news is once more ahead in lying to Nigerians on many front or being exceptionally economical with truths that any civilized government would have told their citizens.

We wish to draw the attention of government to the fact that we in ACIPA like majority of Nigerians have since associated the  announcement by the CBN Governor of the approval by the President for the change in the higher currency denominations as a divisive means of covering up the failure of this government.

Also, this development brings to fore the sad nostalgic memory of the hardship encountered by Nigerians under President Buhari who then as head of military junta in 1983 changed the Nigerian currency for nor just purpose rather than an impressionist ideology and simple lack of good counsel or the refusal to hearken to one. Apart from the past seven years of this administration, Nigerians have never had it as difficult as the period of headship of Nigeria's military junta under General Buhari between 1983 to August 1985 when he was overthrown.

In conclusion, ACIPA awaits the insignia and inscription on the new currency. We strongly advice this government against supplanting a currency that will promote the superiority of one religion, culture or ethnic group over the others.
Also, ACIPA like majority of Nigerians; both Christians and Muslims are asking, how does the change of the currency solve the burden and yoke over Nigerians?

What ever the motive, this political stunt under the guise of revamping the economy is unpopular and highly suspect.

Soon, on ACIPA day in January 2023 we shall clearly state which political party and candidate(s) we and our allies shall be supporting and networking for at the Presidential and governorship elections across the States. That is after desperate saboteurs have been exposed, the forces of good have overcome that of evil and  when we discerned that the election will not be truncated.

We have a commitment to continue praying for the survival of democracy and prosperity of Nigeria especially now that we are very certain that Nigeria is on the precipice. Therefore, we call on all true patriots and security operatives to rise to the occasion against the working and plans of fifth columnist, infiltrators and enemies of our common heritage and destiny.

God bless Nigeria in Jesus name.

ACIPA Chairman.
