Plateau 2023 Elections: INEC Cannot be PLASIEC, PDP's Court Victory is Red Card to APC in Plateau– Bagos
Deputy Chairman House of Representatives Committee on Anti-Corruption and Member Representing Jos South/Jos East Federal Constituency, Hon. Dachung Musa Bagos has described the recent Victory of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP at the Federal High Court Jos as an indication that PDP will chase out the failed APC Administration in Plateau State.
The Lawmaker while reacting to the Court judgment of the Federal High Court Jos, said the Judiciary is the only Hope for the Common Man.
It would be recalled that the Federal High Court sitting in Jos had struck out the case by Augustine Timkuk Dandam against the PDP, INEC, and Hon Nanim Joseph who won the Langtang North-North State Constituency Primaries held in May 2022.
Bagos said the Federal High Court verdict has exposed the APC plans against the PDP which the APC were planning to repeat their hatchet Local Government Elections Job to stop the PDP in Plateau from participating in the 2023 elections, adding that INEC cannot be PLASIEC in 2023.
Bagos who is also the PDP Candidate seeking reelection to Represent Jos South/Jos East Federal Constituency, commended the Federal High Court and the Judiciary for standing for Justice, saying striking out of the suit seeking to prevent the PDP in Plateau from participating in 2023 has clearly shown that APC in Plateau State should start preparing hand over notes.
“APC in the state has failed Plateau People, and they will be given a red card. Federal Government has come out clearly to tell Nigerians that Governors are liable for Poverty and hardship to Nigerians, they also accused the Governors of stealing Local Government Funds, and no wonder most of the poor underdeveloped states are APC States, there is no development neither Salaries of LG Workers being paid". He said.
He added: "President Muhammadu Buhari has accused state governors of stealing the money released through them to the local governments from the Federation account, leaving the councils underdeveloped. According to him, some of the governors take half of their councils’ allocations and hand the remaining part to the chairmen. He made the allegation at an event for the Senior Executive Course 44 (2022) of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) at the Presidential Villa".
He said; "At the National Assembly, we have tried to amend the Constitution to give Local Governments autonomy, but the governors have refused by lobbying their state's houses of Assembly to vote against it.
"As we draw closer to the 2023 General Elections, I call on all Plateau citizens to use their PVCs and give RED cards to APC in the State". He added.
