Road to 2023: Peter Obi Releases 62-Page Campaign Manifesto
Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has finally released his long-awaited campaign manifesto ahead of the 2023 general elections.
According to reports, the former Anambra state governor unveiled the document on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at the Labour Party Secretariat in Abuja.
The manifesto titled, “Our Pact with Nigerians: Creating a New Nigeria“, unveiled Obi’s proposed plans to lead Nigeria if elected as president.
Page 18 of the document itemized his economic plan founded on a shift from consumption to production by running a production-centered economy that is driven by an agrarian revolution and export-oriented industrialization.
Recall on October 31, 2022, the Labour Party announced the release of a seven-point manifesto on what Peter Obi, and his running mate, Datti Baba-Ahmed, would do to salvage the country if elected.
The manifesto tagged ‘Our Pact with Nigeria’, is the 48-page policy document containing the Obi-Datti’s strategies for purposeful and participatory leadership for national rebirth based on seven governance priorities.
However, on his verified Twitter handle, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi denied releasing his manifesto ahead of the 2023 presidential election.
He wrote, “We have not formally released our Manifesto. I will do so personally. It seems an earlier draft copy under review has made its way into the public space.
“Until I release the approved and final draft, please disregard what is being circulated.”
