PDP Stakeholders Kanke LGA Extol Virtues of party state Assembly Candidate, Jiritmwa Goyit during Flag-off

Elders and stakeholders of the PDP in Kanke Local Government Area of Plateau State have shower encomiums on the party's candidate for the Kanke state constituency election, Mrs. Jiritmwa Goyit, describing her as a trusted, diligent and a resourceful woman.

The elders made their submission last Friday on the occasion of the flag off of campaign rally and the inauguration of her Campaign Council in Amper, Kanke LGA.

Hon. Goyit, while inaugurating the Campaign Council, called on the members to ensure proper coordination of her campaign's operations and implement all the strategies. She also urged members of the PDP to vote candidates under the platform of the party in all elections, begining with the Presidential on February 25, 2023. "As a party woman, I urge you to cast your votes to PDP candidates in all the elections".

Our Reporter spoke with some of the elders and stakeholders on the candidature of Goyit after the event. Nde David Shikfu Parradang, a retired Comptroller-General of Immigration Service and former PDP Governoship Aspirant in 2019 described Mrs Goyit as a woman of substance. "This event is significant for me. This is my constituency and I know it's been a very long struggle for our candidate, Madam Jiritmwa Goyit to get this ticket. The court  of Justice finally delivered judgment in her favour which is the popular opinion of the people of Kanke and you can see the outpouring of love to her by the people today. Her representation will be significant to the people of Kanke. Firstly, it will be the first time that we would have a woman to represent us in this constituency in the House of Assembly and it's not just any woman but one of our best. She is a caring person, highly dedicated and committed. She has gone to every unit in this constituency to canvass for votes. We know her very well and strongly believe she can take care of this constituency. I mean she would represent us well. She is well exposed, well travelled and very educated and we know Kanke is safe in her hands".

Also speaking, Hon. Amos Gombi who represented Kanke constituency in the House of Assembly from 2007 to 2011 cherished Mrs Goyit's doggedness saying it has been a long journey fighting injustice and in the end, justice was served. Gombi noted that the event was not just a flag off but to equally appreciate God and the people of Kanke for supporting them in their struggle. He expressed confidence in the character of Goyit and also positive she will win the election. "We the people of Kanke know our capacity. We know what we can do. Everybody knows that PDP always win elections in Kanke  and the coming election will not be different. I am assuring you that we will defeat whoever that is contesting against her. She is a popular woman and we also know the stuff she's made of. Let me also assure you that Jiritmwa will deliver on her mandate".

Mrs. Jemkat Gambo, a woman leader
said her joy was that with Mrs Goyit as PDP candidate they were sure of going into the election united and with unity of purpose saying that victory is already assured.
"I have no doubt in my mind that Jiritmwa  will win the election because she has assembled the right team and we are all committed to ensuring that we get the right outcomes".

Earlier in his acceptance speech, the DG of the Campaign Council, Hon. Silas Yitman promised to do all within his capacity to win the election. According to him, "when you have a superior offer, you are not afraid of the competition and this where I derived my confidence from because we have the best candidate on the ticket".
