I Dislike Civil Servant Living in A Rented Apartment— Comrade Gopep




As Workers in Nigeria Celebrate 1st May to mark workers day in the country, the state Chairman Nigerian Civil Service Union (NCSU), plateau State Chapter has reeled our his achievements since he become the leader of the Union.


Comrade Timothy Gopep who doubled as the Plateau State Secretary Joint Service negotiating Council of the Union in the state , spoke with Newsmen in an interview held at the Union Secretariat in Jos.

He said the union under his watch during the period under review, has achieved tremendous success among which is the secured of C of O for the state Secretariat which was hitertherto not available and very risky for the union. He said right now the C of O the land where the union's Secretariat is build is now secured with the acquisition of Union.


Comrade Gopep stressed that his Exco also negotiated on behalf of the Union members the purchase of parcels of land which every members is to pay instrumentally and spread across 3 months salary that will be deducted from the source, after which the land belong to such individual.

Comrade Timothy said the move of the Union is imperative because as chairman of the Union, he hate seen civil servant leaving in rented apartment because of Inability to own one, the action the chairman described as unacceptable, Condemnable and above all terrible.

He said to ensure improved working environment for the state Chapter of the Union, the chairman set up a Committee to look at the possibility of developing the Secretariat which will provide a place of relaxation for the Union like occasion such as this.

As against this background he set up a committee to look at the possibility of the Union to set up market for the union, which means is going the crops production of the civil Servants in the state.


The chairman who is in his second tenure, use the opportunity to congratulate the plateau state Governor Elect Barrister Caleb Mutfwang, urged him to look at the welfare of the workers because they are the engine room of every state.
