Late Ponzhi Jat, Rwamko Wuyep Laid to Rest Amidst Tears

It was a mixture of tears and tributes on Friday, 15th December, 2023 when the remains of the Ponzhi Jat, Rwamko Wuyep was committed to mother earth at his family compound, Kangkur district of Langtang North Local Government Area of Plateau State.


Before his final interment, a funeral service was held in his honour at the Ponzhi Jat Palace, Kangkur in Langtang North LGA of Plateau State.

Late Ponzhi Jat, Rwamko Wuyep was born on 26th May 1940 and died on Saturday 21st October, 2023 at the age of 83.


Speaking at the funeral service, the Acting President Langtang Joint Traditional Council and the Ponzhi Zinni, Nimnan Langnim, condoled with the Wuyep family and called on the children to emulate the virtues of the deceased.

Testimonies from the family, uncles, friends, children and Traditional rulers revealed that the Late Ponzhi Jat, Rwamko Wuyep was a selfless paramount ruler, deeply rooted in Christ and pacemaker who always leaves an indelible mark of friendship, humility and love in the lives of all who knew him.

There were goodwill messages from the Transition Implemention Committee Chairman of Langtang North and South, former Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Jonah Domfa Wuyep, Amb. Danjuma Sheni, President Ngwang Ishi O'Tarok, His Royal Highness Colonel Dauda Nanzing Nimyel rtd, Ponzhi Gani, Lot Nden the Ponzhi Kadarko, His Royal Highness, RP Bahal, the Ponzhi Bwarat, Pankwal Bogghom, Gen. Jon Temlong rtd, Danjuma Siman, Chief Amb. Nanyah Andrew Daman, the Jarumin Jat and the former Provost Federal College of Education (FCE) Pankshin, Sunday Cirfat who in their separate remarks immortalised him, saying that he will be greatly missed.

Rwamko Wuyep accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at a certain stage of his life before he joined the Nigerian Army and he served the Lord with all his heart. He was a choir master at the All Protestant Church in the barrack and an elder in the church before his demise.

Late Rwamko Wuyep was born on the 26th May 1940 to the family of Late Baba Wuyep of blessed memory in Reak village of Bwarat District, Langtang North LGA of Plateau State.

The late paramount ruler is survived by Mrs. Sylvia Rwamko Wuyep wife, Mrs. Celina Rwamko Wuyep wife, Mrs Salome Rwamko Wuyep wife, 28 children, 41 Grand children and 9 great grand children, friends and many relations.
