Plateau Killings An Act of Genocide Not Farmer/Herder Crisis –Prophet Isa EL-Buba

The Bishop of the El-Buba Outreach Ministry International(EBOMI) and the convener of Initiative for Better and Brighter Nigeria Prophet (Dr) Isa El-Buba in Jos, Nigeria has described the recent killings in Bokkos and Barkin Ladi Local Government Areas of Plateau State as a land grabbing attempt designed to snatch and allocate the God given resources of the Plateau people to non state actors.

In a World press conference held under the Secretariat Flyover Bridge in Jos the State Capital during the “Plateau prayer and mourning rally” held on Saturday 6 January 2024 El- Buba said Plateau was under siege saying the Christmas eve killings in Bokkos and Barkin Ladi communities was neither a Christian and Muslim clash but simply an act of genocide.

He commended the Plateau State Government for declaring one week of mourning for the victims and survivors of the dastardly and barbaric attacks which according to some estimates left over 200 people dead.

He wondered why cowardly terrorists would invade communities and kill men, women, children and the elderly on the eve of the most important celebration in Christendom which is the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ.

He assured the people of Plateau State that they would not continue to mourn forever while elaborating that the people were tired of political statements from all arms of Government and called for decisive action to end the killings.

The cleric noted that presently over 100 communities in the state have been over run by the marauders and rendered refugees in their ancestral God given lands while appreciating the pro active steps taken so far by the government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu(GCFR) in collaboration with the Governor of Plateau State Barrister Caleb Mutfwang in ensuring that the killers are arrested and made to pay for their crimes.

At the rally were Civil Society Organisations,Youth Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Muslim and Christian groups, youth organisations and others.

Prophet Isa El-Buba issued a 21 day ultimatum to the Government to bring the terrorists of the latest Plateau massacre to book failing which another rally will be convened at the same venue to demand justice.

The rally started with a peaceful walk from the Old Airport Junction and terminated at the Secretariat Flyover Bridge in Jos,Nigeria where horrendous and brutal attacks have been launched by terrorists on indigenous communities often tagged with the infamous acronym “bandits”.
