Hajiya Laila Gagdi Empowers 33 Women in PKK, Set to Empower Another 60

Wife of the Member representing Pankshin, Kanke, Kanam, and CEO, Gagdi Support Foundation, Hajiya Laila Yusuf Adamu Gagdi has put smiles on faces of 33 women in her husband's Constituency through training and empowerment in various hands-on trades.

Presenting starter packs and cash donations to the 33 beneficiaries at the Gagdi Support Foundation, Yingi, Rayfield in Jos, Hajiya Laila in her opening remarks said she is committed to the financial freedom of women in the Federal Constituency where her husband represents.

Hajiya Gagdi charged the women to work hard and support their families in these trying economic hardship.

She recalls with nostalgia how she started a saloon business at the age of 18, but with determination and commitment she was able to build other businesses out of it, admoniahing the women to support and help each other.

11 women from each local Government in PKK who have existing businesses where randomly selected for the 3 months training to enable them build and sustain their businesses for self reliance.

Chairman of the foundation and Member representing Pankshin Kanke Kanam in the National Assembly, Rt Honorable Yusuf Adamu Gagdi disclosed that Laila's love for the poor is what attracted him to her, stating that she is his backbone.

Elders Advisory Council, PKK APC party leaders, APC House of Assembly members, former House of Reps and House of Assembly members joined Gagdi in support for the laudable initiative.
