Late Da Ezekiel Ashut Laid to Rest Amidst Tears

It was a mixture of tears and tributes on Saturday, 1st June, 2024 when the remains of late Da, Ezekiel Ashut alias Dusu-Dicxy was committed to mother earth at his family compound, Zafok-IBAAS Foron Chiefdom of Barki-Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State amidst tears.
Before his final interment, a funeral service was held in his honour at the Church of Christ In Nations, (COCIN) CC Zafok of Barki-Ladi LGA of Plateau State.
Late, Ezekiel Ashut was born on 15th July, 1968 and died on Thursday 23rd May, 2024 at the age of 56.
Speaking at the funeral service, the Chief Executive Officer, Institute of Human Virology Nigeria (IHVN), Dr. Patrick Sunday Dakum condoled with the Ashut family and called on the children and the immediate family to emulate the virtues of the deceased.
Testimonies from the family, uncles, friends, brothers and Traditional rulers revealed that the Late Ezekiel Ashut, was a selfless human, deeply rooted in Christ and pacemaker who always leaves an indelible mark of friendship, humility and love in the lives of all who knew him.
There were goodwill messages from the Labour Party (LP), Deputy governorship candidate in the 2023 gubernatorial elections, Edward Pwajok, SAN, Plateau State House of Assembly member, Dickson Yusuf Chollom, District Head of Zafok, Da Gyang Wang Pam, Gwom IBAAS, Foron Chiefdom, Da, Dr. Luka Pam, Dr. Dakum's mother, IHVN staff, friends and relative who in their separate remarks immortalised him, saying that he will be greatly missed.
The immidiate past Labour Party governatorial candidate, Dr. Dakum added that the strength that I see in Blessing, late Ezekiel's wife also strengthen those of us around to be able to speak, but in all of this we lift up our voices, we lift up our eyes to see the glory of God so that it will diminish the pains that we're going through.
He said when he saw that I have a the commitment to my family, his commitment to his family increased, when he saw that I retained my friends of old, he also started counting his, when he saw a lot of passion for community development, he also decided that this is something worth doing and it means we're on the same road, we're on the same track, and if we're on track, we're in the same destiny, if we're in the same destiny, then it is beyond colleague, we become brothers and friends and in Christ we're brothers.
Ashut, accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior in 1979 at ECWA church Nitsin, and was baptized on 7th December 2002 at ECWA church Kufang, of Jos South LGA. He served the Lord with all his heart, he was a dedicated communicant member in the church before his demise.
Late Ezekiel Shut was born on the 15th July, 1968 to the family Da, Ashut Wang of Zafok District of IBAAS, Foron Chiefdom of Barki Ladi, LGA of Plateau State.
Late Ashut attended Gora Primary School in Jos East from 1975 to 1981 where he obtained his first school leaving certificate and thereafter, secured admission for his secondary education in Government Secondary School Maijuju in 1981 to 1987.
After completing his secondary education, Ashut got married to Blessing Dusu Ezekiel Ashut, in 1987 where God blessed them with a son, master Victor Dusu Ezekiel Ashut, who remained their only son.
Late Mr. Ashut before his demise worked as a car and truck driver, he then proceeded to NASCO foods Nigeria Limited, Jos Hill Crest School, National oil, Health and International Building and Design Limited. From there he proceeded to Tongle Nigeria Limited in October 1999 to 2005 from there he proceeded to Institute of Human Virology Nigeria (IHVN).
Late Ashut dedication to work, loyalty and honesty, earned him the elevation to head driver of IHVN Chief Executive Officer, Prof. Patrick Dakum till death.
Late Ezekiel Ashut is survived by Ngo Mrs. Blessing Dusu Ezekiel Shut, wife, Master Victor Victor Dusu Ezekiel Shut, Da, Dazi Ezekiel Shut, elder brother, Ngo Nya yohanba, sister and Ngo Laraba Adamu, sister, Nephews, Uncles, Aunties, Nieces and many friends and relations.
