PLHA Standing Committee Reconstituted



The Plateau State House of Assembly has reconstituted its Standing Committees for the 10th Assembly. Speaker Rt. Hon. Gabriel Dewan announced during Thursday's plenary session at the Old Government House in Rayfield Jos. The committees and their chairpersons are:

- Funds and Management Board - Rt. Hon. Gabriel Dewan (Chairman)
- House Services and Welfare - Hon. Galadima Ibrahim
- Agriculture - Hon.Bala Hudu
- Finance -Hon. Denty Laven
- Education, Science and Technology -Hon. Joseph Gokum
- Commerce and Industry - Hon. Abdul Yanga
- Works and Transport - Hon. Dickson Chollom
- Housing and Urban Development - Hon. Abel Nansak
- Judiciary - Hon. Kallamu Idris
- Women Affairs - Hon. Ali Bako
- Water Resources and Energy - Hon. Abdul Yanga
- Health Committee -Hon. Joseph Gokum
- Information - Hon. Matthew Kwarpo Sylvanus
- Parastatal and World Bank Projects - Hon. Joseph Bukar
- Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs - Hon. Bendel Nanchwat
- Youth and Sports Development - Hon. Matthew Kwarpo Sylvanus
- Environment and Solid Mineral Development - Hon.Ali Bako
- Labour and Security - Hon. Nanbol Listick

The Speaker charged committee members to scrutinize the activities of Ministries, Departments, and Agencies under their purview for effective service delivery.

During the plenary, Majority Leader Joseph Bukar moved a motion calling on the Plateau State Government to sustain Executive Order 003, controlling building and vehicular traffic within the Greater Jos Master Plan.

The Assembly also sympathized with the people of Barkin Ladi Constituency over a recent windstorm disaster and adopted a new Legislative Calendar for the second session, spanning from June 20, 2024, to June 13, 2025."
