Summary of Hon Listick's Engagement Meeting with Community Development Association Leaders




The Legislative Engagement Meeting of Langtang North Central State Constituency with Community Development Association Leaders across the constituency held in Useni Memorial College, Dadur on Friday 28th June, 2024 was attended by Prince Ponfa A. Wuyep the National President of Bwarat Community Development and Cultural Association (BCDCA) who led the Executive Officers of BCDCA, Danjuma P. Nanven Zwalde the National President of Gani Community Development Association (GCDA) who led the Executive Officers of GCDA and Hon. Martin S. Sambo the National Vice President of Gazum Cultural Economic and Social Development Organization (GACESDO) who led the Executive Officers of GACESDO. The meeting deliberated and agreed as follows:

1. The State Representative of Langtang North Central State Constituency should continue to provide quality representation, make laws and conduct oversight that will bring the dividends of democracy to the good people of Langtang North Central State Constituency.

2. The State Lawmaker should lobby for recruitments, empowerments and skills acquisition for the good people of Langtang North Central State Constituency.

3. That Government should return grant support that Community Schools across Langtang North Central State Constituency and Plateau State have enjoyed until 2012. This will go a long way to salvage schools that are facing challenges of inadequate funding. It will also contribute immensely to human capital development in Plateau State.

4. The Member Representing the good people of Langtang North Central State Constituency should use the appropriate legislative tools that will make Government establish tertiary institution in the Constituency, upgrade existing Primary Health Care facilities to Cottage Hospital or General Hospital that will be used to provide services to teaming population in the constituency and Government should also construct and complete rural roads across the constituency for example Pil-Gani, Somung to Wase Tofa Road and Lohmak to Gazum Road.

5. That the Honourable Member should liaise with the Transition Implementation Committee Chairman of Langtang North Local Government Council to construct drainages that will reduce the flood being experienced at Pil Gani Junction in Kwanpe and the one along Yakot to Pil Gani. Meeting jointly considered the flood as a matter of emergency. Meeting further called on the Government at all levels that the flood is a matter of urgent public importance and Government should quickly come to the aide of the good people of Langtang North Central Constituency.

6. That Community Development Association Leaders will work with the appropriate authorities to promote civic duties in the area of school enrolment, birth registration, Permanent Voters Card (PVC) registration, National Identification Number (NIN) registration, Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), Taxes, census etc.

7. That this Legislative engagement meeting shall be conducted twice in a year. The next engagement meeting will be on Friday 29th November, 2024. The venue for the next meeting will be communicated appropriately.

8. That CDAs leaders should step down this engagements at their different strata of leadership for effective assimilation and appreciation of the Honourable Member's efforts.
