Prof Dakum’s Foundation Set to Flag off Soon, Gets CAC Operational Certificate


The setback encountered which hampered the scheduled flag-off of Professor Patrick Sunday Dakum's foundation in November 2024, is finally over, thus paving way for the take-off soon.

The setback which was occasioned by the change of the previous name, 'Patrick Sunday Dakum Community Development Foundation' to 'Patrick Sunday Dakum Foundation', which delayed the completion of the registration with Corporate Affairs Commission, CAC, has finally gotten node from the Commission via the issuance of operational certificate pivoted by eligibility through attainment of requirements for the enrollment.
The certificate was issued yesterday 31st January, 2025. 

The Foundation has named the following as its trustees:  Fadimatu Salihu Mishara, Grace Gajere Adamu, Patrick Sunday Dakum, Amaechi Dennis Morde, Hosea Sukkushe and Jonathan Merpring Gukut, 

The aims and objectives of the Patrick Sunday Dakum Foundation are:

1) Provide Scholarship to students from disadvantaged backgrounds annually 
2) Equip and refurbish schools in rural areas with essential educational materials and infrastructure improvements 
3) Conduct mentoring programs to support academic and personal development of students 
4) Implement clean water projects in communities without access to safe water for drinking
5) Train specific number of individuals annually in vocational skills such as carpentry, tailoring and computer literacy
6) Establish community led initiatives for sustainable agriculture and environmental conservation in villages
7) Empower specific number of women annually through entrepreneurship training and microfinance initiatives
8) Organize workshops and seminars on gender equality and youth rights, reaching a specific number of participants annually
9) Support the establishment of youth-led initiatives for community development and social change
10) Plant a specific number of trees annually in deforested or degraded areas
11) Educate specific number of community members annually on sustainable agricultural practices and environmental stewardship 
12) Partner with local authorities to improve waste management systems in target communities
13) Establish a rapid response team and emergency fund to provide immediate assistance during disasters, benefiting specific number of individuals annually 
14) Conduct training sessions for community members on disaster preparedness and response strategies
15) Fund and support a specific number of research projects annually, addressing local challenges in healthcare, education or sustainable development 
16) Conduct health screenings and medical outreaches in specific number of rural communities
17) Establish partnerships with local healthcare providers to offer discounted or free healthcare services to undeserved populations
18) Train community health workers to educate locals on preventive healthcare measures
19) Conduct quarterly health awareness campaigns reaching specific number of individuals annually on topics such as Malaria prevention, HIV/AIDS awareness, and maternal health
20) Distribute educational materials and resources on sanitation and hygiene practices to specific number of households annually.
The Foundation will be sited in Jos, Plateau State Capital.
