Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, on Thursday held a productive meeting with the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Abuja. The discussion focused on improving road infrastructure, health, education, and the agricultural sectors in the state. Governor Mutfwang, who was received by the Minister Counsellor, Zhang Yi, highlighted the presence of Chinese construction companies in Plateau State and emphasized that the government has created a conducive environment for their business operations. PLHA Helds 4-Day Induction Workshop For new Members

The Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Dewan K. Gabriel led the newly sworn-in members of the 10th assembly for an induction workshop alongside Management Staff of the State Assembly in Abuja, Nigeria. The induction workshop was organised to further strengthen the new lawmakers as they take up legislative duties of the 10th Assembly. The workshop was focused on the theme: "Implications of Financial Crimes and Effective Budget Preparation, Financial Reporting, inline with International Accounting Standard (IPSAS) and it's Relationship with Legislation". Rt. Hon. Dewan acknowledged the importance and implications of the induction on the new members which served as an avenue to accord them the opportunity for both the old and new lawmakers to share ideas and be more equipped for the legislative business ahead.

The Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission has begun its NEEDS Assessment tour of the Seventeen Local Government Areas preparatory to the forthcoming Local Government Elections in the State. The visit is to ascertain the level of preparedness by the Commission in conducting a free transparent and credible local government polls. Chairman of the Commission Plangji Cishak who led members to Headquaters of the various Local Governments stressed on the importance of maintaining a transparent and credible PLASIEC which will serve as a reference point to Plateau people and beyond. Plateau, Bayelsa sign agreement to improve solar, gas usage

 Plateau and Bayelsa state governments have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to collaborate in power, renewable energy, and agricultural products sectors. According to a statement on Monday, the MoU was signed at the Foreign Investment Network (FIN) annual international business roundtable and Forbes Best of Africa Award ceremony. Douye Diri, Bayelsa state governor, and Caleb Muftwang, his Plateau counterpart, were said to have signed the deal at the event, (held on June 28 in Lisbon, Portugal) to enhance positive growth in their respective states. PLSG Bans Road Blockades by Churches, Mosques

Plateau state Governor, Caleb Mutfwang has issued a ban on road blockades by all religious centers in the state. He said this directive aims to alleviate traffic congestion and ensure public safety. In addition to the ban, the governor has mandated that all religious centers, including churches and mosques, provide building approvals issued by the Jos Metropolitan Development Board (JMDB). Non-compliance will result in penalties. The directive was communicated through letters dated June 13, 2024, signed by Hart Bankat, General Manager of JMDB. The letters, which are part of the implementation of Executive Order 003 signed by Governor Mutfwang, were addressed to the state chairmen of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI). Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission (PLASIEC), says it has commenced preparations for the conduct of local government elections. Chairman of the commission Planji Cishak, made this know on Thursday in Jos, when he addressed Journalist on the activities of the commission. Cishak, who assumed office one week ago, along with his commissioners, said that the commission had already commenced immediate actions and readiness checks. He stated that PLASIEC identifying administrative and operational gaps and weaknesses, as well developing and implementing policies that would pave the way for free, fair, and credible elections at the grassroots.
