VC Prof. Izam To PLASU Lecturers: "We Don’t Operate IPPIS, So Don’t Join Strike"
The Vice Chancellor of the Plateau State University, Bokkos, Professor Yohanna Izam has pleaded with the members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), chapter of the institution not to join the nationwide strike since the school does not operate the contentious Integrated Personnel Payroll information System (IPPIS). He described the national ASUU strike as unfortunate, coming at time when the university was pleading with its staff to resume from the strike earlier embarked by the lecturers as result of unpaid earned allowances. It would be recalled that both ASUU and the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) PLASU Chapters had in December, 2021 embarked on strike demanding the state government release the sum of N310 million for the payment of Earned Allowances owned its members in Plateau State University from 2010 to 2020.
