VC Prof. Izam To PLASU Lecturers: "We Don’t Operate IPPIS, So Don’t Join Strike"

The Vice Chancellor of the Plateau State University, Bokkos, Professor Yohanna Izam has pleaded with the members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), chapter of the institution not to join the nationwide strike since the school does not operate the contentious Integrated Personnel Payroll information System (IPPIS). He described the national ASUU strike as unfortunate, coming at time when the university was pleading with its staff to resume from the strike earlier embarked by the lecturers as result of unpaid earned allowances. It would be recalled that both ASUU and the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) PLASU Chapters had in December, 2021 embarked on strike demanding the state government release the sum of N310 million for the payment of Earned Allowances owned its members in Plateau State University from 2010 to 2020. Operation SAVE HAVEN received a distress call on civil unrest that ensued between Fulani herders and miners at Yelwa Zangam general area of Jos North LGA in the early hours of Tuesday 15 February 22. Also, in the late hours of same day, a vehicle conveying passengers was attacked along road Jos-Jingir.  Troops of Operation SAFE HAVEN swiftly responded to both incidents and brought the situation  under control. Unfortunately, one person was killed and another injured at the mining site. On the unfortunate attack on commuters, three persons lost their lives, 2 other passengers sustained varying degree of injuries and 6 others were rescued. Troops of Operation SAFE HAVEN today 11 January 2022 rescued Mrs Thabitha Silas, the wife of the Deputy Chief of Staff, Deputy Governor’s office Plateau state, from kidnappers. Mrs Thabitha was also rescued along with Dr Audu Samuel, the Medical Director Allah Na Kowa Clinic and Maternity Barikin Ladi. Mrs Silas was kidnapped on Sunday 9 January 2022 at  her residence at  little Rayfield Jos, Plateau state while Dr Audu was kidnapped on Monday 10 January 2022 at his residence in Barikin Ladi by the same kidnap gang.  The rescued victims have been reunited with their families.  Details to follow later ISHAKU TAKWA  Major  Military Information Officer OPSH 11 January 2022.

Breaking: HUNTER RESCUES A YOUNG GIRL CAPTURED BY SUSPECTED YAHOO PLUS BOYS FOR RITUAL IN KURU, JOS SOUTH LGA

A good Samaritan from Kuru, Mr Pam rescued a young lady who was captured by Ritualist aka yahoo plus boys for ritual today in Kuru, Jos. According to Mr Pam, a local hunter, he was on his routine visit to the bush behind his neighbourhood to check whether his trap caught any bush meat, when he suddenly heard a lady shouting "please don't kill me" They suspected yahoo boys were about to harvest her organs with knives, thereby forcing her to raise the alarm which attracted the hunter. Luck ran out for the gang as the brave hunter engage them with his local pistol, forcing them to retreat back to their car before zooming off. According to her the yahoo boys used charm on her which made her temporarily lose consciousness. However, the prompt response of the hunter saved the young lady as she has since been handed over to the police to reunite her with her family. 2022 is something else. The Federal University of Education Pankshin establishment Act, recently passed by the National Assembly has reached the final stage of fruitation, with the transmission of the Act to Mr President by Clerk of the National Assembly for presidential assent. In a letter emanating from the Clerk of the National Assembly to Mr President, dated 30th December, 2021 exclusively obtained by Gagdi Media Team, which receipt was acknowledged by Office of the Chief of Staff to the President, the Clerk said the letter was in consonancce with provisions of the Acts Authentication Act Cap A2, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004 seeking the President's consent and assent. Breaking: Eight Suspects Arrested in Connection to The Kidnap of Sum Pyem of Gindiri

Dabat Warriors of Qua'anpan LGA Emerged Victorious at Komsol Unity Peace Cup Competition

The Komsol unity peace cup competition 2021 was a football competition organized for the 40 grassroots wards teams of Shendam, Mikang, and Qua'anpan Federal Constituency to reunite and improve local sporting activities in the areas. The finals of the match was between Yelwa United versus Dabat Warriors which ended 2:1 in favour of Dabat Warriors. The finals was played at the Shendam Mini Stadium amidst pomp and pageantry.
