Security: Hon Dagul, Community Leaders Meet with Anglo Jos Divisional Police Officer to Strengthen Ties

In a bid to foster a stronger relationship between the community and the police, Councillor representing Zawan B Ward of Jos South Local Government Area, Hon Alex Isaac Dagul and elders of the community paid a courtesy visit to the Anglo Jos Divisional Police Officer. Grain Farmers Association Flags Off Sale of Improved Seedlings

The Grain Processors and Allied Farmers Association has flagged off sales of improved maize seedlings and other assorted farm inputs preparatory to the 2025 farming season. Performing the flag off ceremony at the association's office in Langtang North, the Plateau State chairman of the association, who doubles as the National Vice President, Mr Naphtali Nankpak Tali, enjoined farmers to take advantage of the variety of services offered by the association in order to improve their farm yields, so as to curb the upsurge of food scarcity affecting a large chunk of Nigerian citizenry. New Commissioners Sworn-in & Governing Councils Inaugurated

The Executive Governor of Plateau State, His Excellency  Barr. Bokkos Local Government Council Dissolves Revenue Task Force

Amalau Samuel Amalau, has officially dissolved the Revenue Task Force as part of ongoing reforms to enhance revenue collection and financial management within the local government area. In a statement released by the council, Hon. Amalau emphasized that the decision was taken to improve efficiency and transparency in revenue collection. The task force, which was established by a previous resolution, is now formally disbanded, and all members are required to submit a final report to the council. Effective immediately, all duties and responsibilities of the task force members are terminated, and a new revenue strategy will be announced in due course. In light of this, Professor of Epidemiology and Public Health, School of Medicine Maryland University Baltimore, USA; the Chief Executive Officer, Institute of Human Virology Nigeria, IHVN, and Plateau State Labour Party, LP, governorship candidate in the 2023 general elections, Professor Patrick Sunday Dakum, has lamented the acceleration of cancer in the country which 127, 763 new cases are recorded annually alongside 79,542 deaths yearly. Dakum said cancer is one of the fastest growing killer non-communicable diseases in Nigeria with few diagnose centres where some lack cutting edge equipment and no oncologists. 22 Years old Lady Sells 1 year old Son for N1.5m to ‘Save herself from dying of hunger’

A 22-year-old woman identified as Faith Sunday, has been arrested in Lagos for selling her one-year-old for N1.5 million to save herself from dying as a result of hunger. Faith was arrested along with seven other members of a child-trafficking syndicate by detectives from the headquarters of Zone 2 Police Command in the Onikan area of Lagos led by Ngozi Braide. In her confessional statement to the police, Faith said: “I sold my son in September 2024 to a buyer through Mrs Ibezim Chioma and one Sunday Okputu. “The buyer, who resides somewhere in Alissa area of Ikeja, paid N1.5 million. Hunger forced me to sell my child to the syndicate. I want to invest the money in a business.” The Deputy Commissioner of Police in-charge of Zonal Anti-Crime Unit, Zone 2, Onikan, Lagos, DCP Ajao S.       The Plateau Initiative for the Development and Advancement of the Natives (PIDAN) Plateau Central Zone has condemned in the strongest terms, the latest attacks on innocent citizens of Plateau state. The Central Zone chapter of PIDAN in a press statement signed by its secretary, Dr. Katkukah Danjuma Gokum noted that the recent round of attacks which was carried out specifically in Lihitlubang, Tyop, Tam and Chisu communities of Mangu local government area of Plateau state is senseless and heinous.
